Finance Intern

Houston, TX - Hybrid

Talen Energy is seeking a motivated Financial Planning and Forecasting Intern to join our dynamic Finance team. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, providing valuable exposure to real-world financial decision-making to guide business performance.

What will you own?

• Assist in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

• Support the development of financial models to analyze business trends

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes

• Assist with the implementation of new financial planning and forecasting tool

• Assist in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed

Required Skills

• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (customizable based on role)

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in virtual and in-person environments

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university

• Must be a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or a related discipline

• Enrolled full-time with a minimum of 12 semester hours

• Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Eligible to work in the U.S. in accordance with BCIS guidelines

• Able to provide an official student transcript and any other required documentation

• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with others

• Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, extracurricular, or community involvement

• Internship eligibility ends upon graduation from the academic program
