To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Finance Director located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the VP of Business Development on the Commercial Operations Team, the Finance Director’s main role is to support Business Development and the Quote team in opportunity development with financial analysis and modeling. The secondary role is to provide financial analysis services to Global Account Management (GAM), and other teams as requested.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
Support Business Development team in the following areas:
Major Quotes
Participate in major quotes meeting one or more of the following criteria:
Proactive proposals for strategic accounts.
Large quotes needing alternative financial analysis not provided in normal quoting (e.g., net revenue accounting) or without enough information to run a formal FGCM quote.
Requiring the merger of current business and potential business as a combined package.
Opportunities requiring Return on Investment (ROI) analysis of design investments.
Deemed as strategic and critical.
Develop unique financial model if the opportunity requires.
Review FGCM produced by the Quote team and put together executive summary if required.
Produce ROI models if investment is required.
Assist Business Development/Global Account Management in filling out complex pricing templates if requested.
Financial Modeling and Analysis
Provide analysis for business needs beyond quotes (e.g., volumes, inventory, cash).
Other Ad-hoc analytics as requested.
Support finance training and development of team members
Skills:
Advanced Excel Skills
Including using VBA to write custom macros.
Ability to understand, reverse engineer, and manipulate complex files.
Deep Understanding of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet Statements
Both for analysis of external company financial filings and internal manufacturing statements (as in FGCM).
Knowledge of the drivers that can be used to improve the financial position of the business being studied and the trade-offs of those drivers.
Knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Drivers
Labor, overhead, warranty, SG&A, AR, AP, Inventory, Capex, depreciation, PPV and material cost of acquisition.
Net working capital and net invested capital.
Net revenue and consignment impacts.
DSO, DPO and ITO calculations.
Basic knowledge of PCBA, System, and Metal manufacturing processes.
(Knowledge specific Flex processes and acronyms are a plus)
Ability to estimate costs when hard data is not available.
Activity Based Cost models.
Knowledge of Quote Process
Flex quote process and required approvals.
Understand Request for Quote documents and deliverables.
Acquisitions, manufacture-in-place.
Presentation of quotes/models for Executive review and approval.
Understanding of Return on Investment (ROI) Analysis
Years to payback, ROI, ROIC, NPV.
Basic Understanding of Corporate Valuation and Credit
Drivers for credit and credit exposure.
Drivers for stock investment valuation (e.g., Black Scholes).
Ability to Work in Unstructured Environment with Constant Change
Anticipate model drivers to create plug and play scenario modeling.
Working with extended, global teams.
Adapting to workload fluctuations.
Systems
Flex financial systems (OneStream) reporting.
Salesforce CRM.
FGCM is a plus.
The Experience We’re Looking to Add to Our Team:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, International Business or related field, or equivalent experience and training.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
8+ years of related experience, including a minimum of 5 years of Finance Management experience.
Business Operations experience is preferred.

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (PCBA, System, Metal)
- Experience with financial systems: OneStream and Salesforce CRM
- FGCM experience (mentioned as a plus)
