WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead all aspects of accounting operations globally.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in alignment with SOX, GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and high-quality reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders.
- Drive continuous improvement and transformation within the accounting function, including process automation, systems upgrades, and standardization across regions.
- Serve as a key business partner to the CFO, Finance Teams and executive leadership, delivering financial insights that shape strategic direction.
- Oversee the development, mentoring, and performance management of a high-caliber accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Lead relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and manage risk exposure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-border teams, ensuring alignment between finance and broader business operations.
WHO YOU ARE
- A senior finance leader with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a recognized accounting qualification (CC, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent). MBA or a master’s in Accounting is highly valued.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior finance roles, with a strong track record in international companies.
- Industry experience in Manufacturing or Fashion and Ecommerce is highly preferred.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with other senior executives.
- Proven experience leading finance transformation and automation initiatives across global organizations.
- Experience with implementation of ERP/accounting management systems
- Microsoft D365 Experience and SAP BPC experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a Big Four firm is considered a strong asset.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both executive and operational levels - hands-on, yet forward-looking and business-minded.
- A confident, empathetic leader who builds high-performing teams and leads with integrity, clarity, and purpose.
- Experience in a publicly traded company including SOX requirements.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Portuguese is a plus!
- Willing and able to be based in Porto, Portugal.
