Job Description
Supports project controls functions by managing project budgets, financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis. The role partners with project and finance stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting and insights, leveraging SQL, Power BI, Jira, and Confluence to ensure strong financial governance and project transparency.Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain project budgets, including forecasting, tracking actuals vs plan, variance analysis, and regular financial reporting across multiple projects.
Develop, maintain, and update budget trackers and financial dashboards using tools such as Excel and Power BI to provide clear visibility to project managers and leadership.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to gather inputs for budget planning, reforecasting, and approvals, ensuring alignment with project scope and timelines.
Maintain project plans and work tracking using Jira, including backlog management, sprint tracking, and adherence to project milestones.
Manage and maintain project documentation in Confluence, ensuring accurate, up-to-date artifacts such as project plans, financial assumptions, decisions, and retrospectives.
Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze financial and project data from source systems as required.
Automate recurring processes and reporting using Power Automate, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
Support regular project governance activities including meeting agendas, minutes, action item tracking, status updates, and stakeholder communications.
Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly project and financial status reports for sponsors, finance partners, and senior stakeholders.
Act as a point of contact to triage project-related inquiries, coordinate follow-ups, and track issues through to resolution.
Continuously enhance project execution and financial management practices by leveraging lessons learned, best practices, and relevant tooling enhancements.
Required Qualifications
MBA or equivalent qualification
B.Tech in Computer Science / Engineering (CSE) preferred
Strong experience or demonstrated capability in project budgeting, financial tracking, or cost management.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey financial and project information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and highlight risks or variances.
Hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
Experience using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and OneDrive for collaboration and document management.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
2–4 years of relevant experience in project financial management or project operations.
Hands-on experience building Power BI reports and dashboards for project or financial reporting.
Experience designing or maintaining workflows using Power Automate.
Familiarity with enterprise project governance models and financial approval processes.
Exposure to Agile delivery environments and financial tracking within Agile frameworks.
