Finance Business Partner

DS Smith is a leading provider of corrugated packaging solutions worldwide. Over the past 80 years our organisation has grown dramatically, as have our services and areas of expertise. We are currently seeking a seasoned Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic team providing support to 2 production sites in Serbia. This pivotal role is essential in supporting business decision making by providng financial insights and analysis and drive company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and improving cost control as well as conducting financial analysis and implementing appropriate corrective actions (costs, KPIs, results, investments).
• Leading budget and forecast processes. Monitoring budgets and identifying efficiency improvements.
• Collecting and analyzing data, comparing actual vs. planned results, and adjusting forecasts based on risks and opportunities.
• Acting as a key advisor to business leaders, translating financial data into actionable insights.
• Supporting strategic planning by evaluating business cases and investment opportunities.
• Identifying risks and opportunities to enhance business performance.
• Preparing financial reports and KPIs to track business performance.
• Ensuring financial transparency and alignment with business goals.
• Reviewing cost structures and identifying areas for optimization.
• Enhancing financial processes to drive efficiency.
• Presenting financial insights in a clear and strategic manner.
• Acting as a bridge between finance and other business functions.
• Ensuring financial practices align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinating and overseeing monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, as well with DS Smith GFPM6 control environment, coordinate controls implementation and verification.
• CAPEX reporting, investment activation, and amortization according to company standards.
• Responsible for monitoring expenses and sales of fixed assets.
• Monitoring audits and financial reviews including communication with external institutions, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications:                         

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field;
• At least 3 years of work experience in controling or other finance function;
• Proactivity and focus on the result;
• Team orientation and the ability to effectively cooperate with all levels of the organization;
• Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a similar role or industry;
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and legislation;
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills;
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to advise and influence management decisions;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. SAP knowledge will be considered an advantage;

• Fluent in English ( both written and spoken).
