Role: UK Finance Apprenticeship Programme, Chanel

Purpose of the role
We are looking to offer the opportunity to gain the Level 7 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship whilst working in our Global Finance team, rotating across multiple teams. Within the structure of the apprenticeship, the successful individual will be able to pursue either the ACCA Professional Qualification.
This is a unique opportunity to learn and hone a new set of skills through working with various Finance teams, providing balanced exposure across a range of Finance topics.

Corporate Reporting and Accounting
The Corporate Reporting team prepares monthly and quarterly financial reporting and forecasting relating to corporate entities within the Group. Within our team you will learn about financial decisions made by the corporate entity and accounting for those decisions.
Details of Role:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting and forecasting
- Assist the team during Year-end and Half-year financial reporting process
- Support and assist in global cost recharges and forecasting
- Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities
- Support ongoing ad hoc projects, including system migration
Group Reporting and Accounting
The Group Reporting and Accounting team prepares consolidated financial information of the global Chanel Group. Within our team you will have the opportunity to work with global teams and work on various accounting topics.
Details of Role:
- Assist with the global quarterly reporting process of the consolidated group results
- Liaise with global accounting teams to obtain information relevant to the global team
- Assist during the year-end preparation of statements
- Support ongoing ad hoc projects
Insurance
Understanding the coverage of different insurance policies (didn't you always want to know what car insurance covers??!! With us...you will still not know but you will be able to understand the nuances of any insurance policy that comes your way).
Additionally, this will help you navigate any contract you come across in any other jobs you do!
Details of Role:
- Practically, this means working on corporate claims (financial data, support to ensure claims are properly handled during their lifecycle) you need a good feel for numbers.
- Working with our regions to capture claims accurately on the Risk Management and Insurance System
- Participating in meetings with Insurers and brokers on various components of our insurances
- Support with policy issuance, premium billing and tracking
Tax
The Global Transfer Pricing team prepares annual documentation and is involved in tax/Transfer Pricing project work and support to the Chanel worldwide group. Working as part of our team you will gain in-depth knowledge of the group, not only tax aspects but also the business activities.
Details of Role:
Assist the Tax/Transfer Pricing team with compliance activities:
- Support the TP team with detailed documentation preparation, gaining broad knowledge of the group.
- Prepare and analyse data including compiling intercompanytransaction tables.
- Assist with gathering financial, legal and business information and data for the TP documentation.
- Develop professional communication skills including networking, assistance with writing emails, presentations etc.
- Attend meetings with tax advisers and other teams, helping to follow-through - action points.
- Assist with the organisation and filing of tax records and documents.
