The Finance & Accounting Manager (F&A) is responsible for financial management and accounting support to the project. They manage the country finance and accounting team, ensuring the team provides a full range of financial support with a particular focus on accurate, timely, and sophisticated budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, financial monitoring and reporting. They ensure the timely payment of vendors and staff and accurate accounting of all financial transactions. They ensure that financial functions support the timely and effective implementation of the project’s technical scope of work.

The F&A provides counsel to help project leadership ensure that resources are allocated and used in compliance with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, and appropriate standards and procedures. They work cooperatively with the project team, Corporate Finance teams and the Global Services Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Professional qualification in ACCA or CPA strongly preferred

Candidate must be a valid registered member of the Indonesian Accounting body

Experience

- Eight (8) years’ progressive accounting experience in financial management of complex international development assistance programs (budgeting, reporting and analysis).

- Significant experience with USG-funded projects strongly desirable, USAID experience highly desirable.

- Experience working with international donors, foundations and private giving preferable.

- At least five (5) years’ experience managing a team.

Knowledge and Skill

- Demonstrated skills in developing large budgets, analyzing spending against budget, and internal and external reporting required.

- Have knowledge and experience in tax management in accordance with Indonesian tax regulations including VAT exemption process.

 - Excellent Excel skills required (including data extraction, manipulation, pivoting, filtering, sorting),

- Working knowledge of English required.

Competencies

- Manage work with shifting priorities and multi task.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office desirable; Knowledge of CostPoint and QuickBooks a plus.

- Self-starter who can work well independently and also work effectively as a team member with strong inter-personal skills.

- High ethics and a personal commitment to transparency and accountability.

 

Physical Demands

- Office environment including Keyboard use, pulling drawers, lifting papers 10 lbs.
