A Brief Overview
The "Finance Analyst – Bermuda Operations" role is an excellent opportunity to join RGA's growing team in Bermuda and to gain valuable in-depth experience in the fast-growing long term reinsurance sector on the island. Reporting directly to the Bermuda Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will contribute to high-profile finance and regulatory compliance initiatives managed by the finance teams, providing direct project management skills and direct day-to-day reporting support, whilst gaining a deep understanding of RGA's global business and operations. The role has excellent access to RGA's senior management, growth, training and development opportunities and would be perfect for an ambitious and motivated insurance professional keen to take the next step in their career on island.
What you will do

  • Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive finance management reports and Board presentations for senior leadership and the Board of Directors of RGA’s Bermuda registered legal entities

  • Regulatory Reporting: Assist in preparation of materials, presentations and reports to be submitted to regulatory bodies, including the Bermuda Monetary Authority and Registrar of Companies.

  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate finance-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder communication across RGA’s operations both in Bermuda and in other global RGA offices.

  • Budget Management: Assist in developing, monitoring, and analyzing the operating expense budget of the Bermuda operations. Prepare ongoing analytical review and investigate variances.

  • Internal Controls: Support the continued design and implementation of legal entity-specific internal control processes and frameworks in compliance with international standards and local to ensure financial integrity

  • Regulatory Reporting: Prepare compliance management reports and Board presentations in accordance with Bermuda regulatory requirements

  • Reinforce and keep abreast of trends and changes in the regulatory landscape; may attend conferences and relevant industry events as needed.

  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required

  • Post-graduate or professional qualification in related field, or in process of obtaining such qualification preferred

  • 4+ Years experience in Finance, Financial Auditing or Regulatory Supervision role within the Bermuda insurance and reinsurance industry required

  • Previous experience with BMA regulatory reporting requirements for a Bermuda registered reinsurer required

  • Working familiarity with design and/or monitoring of Internal Control frameworks over financial reporting function, such as SOX controls required

  • 5+ Years experience in finance and/or compliance roles in the Bermuda insurance and reinsurance industry preferred

  • Experience in Project Management roles strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, and Bermuda Statutory Accounting reporting frameworks applicable to insurance entities required

  • Working knowledge of Bermuda insurance and reinsurance regulations; regulatory framework; insurance or reinsurance reporting requirements, specifically as related to Class C, D or E licensed Long Term insurers/reinsurers. required

  • Excellent numeracy skills required

  • Excellent data management skills required

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received required

  • Investigative, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines required

  • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives required

  • Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions required

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously required

  • Advanced knowledge of broad business practices required

  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint), required

  • Knowledge of life, health, or annuity insurance products preferred

  • Insurance or reinsurance industry certifications preferred

Skills Required
