Accountant (Entity controller), Indonesia, South East Asia
Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
Legal Entity: AVEVA Software Indonesia (to be incorporated and name to be agreed)
Reports to: Senior Manager Finance, Southeast Asia (Based in Malaysia)
Role summary
The Accountant is part of a small in-house financial team responsible for the Indonesia Market in Southeast Asia sub-region(“SEA”). As AVEVA’s Accountant, your core responsibilities are to support SEA Senior Manager Finance in entity controllership, accounting, tax, compliance, treasury, reporting, and internal control including taking lead in assigned scope and/or with revenue controller and other functions. The role has a responsibility for managing the outputs from a shared service centre which supports the entity. The Accountant is also required to support ad-hoc projects, analysis and reporting as well as occasional back-up support for other SEA finance team.
Financial controllership and accounting responsibilities

Manage and interface with the shared service centre, taking full responsibility for the deliverables in accordance with the reporting timetable

Review and approval of journals and reconciliations
-
Review and approval of purchase requisitions
-
Review the revenues and costs in accordance with the master chart of accounts and dimensional structure
-
Review and approval of intercompany and related party transactions, ensuring all intercompany transactions are recorded and netted off in accordance with group instructions
-
Analytical review of balance sheet and P&L and providing analysis as required to Group
-
Review of the reporting pack to be submitted in the consolidation tool
-
Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and review of significant accounting judgements.

Responsible for cost analysis and support in cost control activities

Resolving escalated queries from vendors/ employees.
-
Act as the key finance point of contact for Indonesia.
Treasury
-
Reviews of cashflow and submit funding requests to Group Treasury as required
-
Liaison with banks on issue resolutions as required.

Support optimal working capital management.

Maintain signing and online banking mandate
-
Arrange bank and parent company guarantees through Group Treasury
-
Manage administration of corporate cards
Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with the Group’s internal control framework, enhancing those controls where necessary and maintaining supporting documents to demonstrate that sufficient controls are in place.

Support internal audit and responding to requests.

Support with other processes such as record keeping, data and document retrieval
-
Liaison with tax consultants.

Support and liaison with Corporate Secretariat function on corporate secretarial and compliance matters
Audit
-
Lead and ensure completion of statutory audit and/or internal audit
-
Preparation of entity financial statement for statutory audit
-
Liaison with Auditors to clear queries and/or requests of information.
Taxation
-
Lead/support tax matters including GST / VAT/ Services tax or other returns, corporate tax return and submissions, timely response to queries from tax authorities working with the appointed local tax advisor

Lead/support Indirect tax compliance
-
Compliance on withholding tax and employment tax (work together with HR)

Liaison with Tax Consultant/tax authorities to clear queries and/or requests of information.

Support preparation of corporate tax and deferred tax provisions under IFRS for group reporting and under local GAAP for the entity financial statements

Advise Group Tax of risks and audit
Entity setup

Help incorporate the entity in Indonesia.

Help set up bank account, take all the tax registrations and business licenses in Indonesia
Other duties

Any other tasks as assigned by the line manager/management
Requirements
-
Minimum 5 to 8 years working experiences in similar role preferably from MNC environment
-
Accounting degree or professional accounting qualification or equivalent
-
Strong knowledge of financial terms, concepts, and accounting principles
-
Familiar with Indonesian taxes (direct and indirect) and Indonesia’s general regulatory environment
-
Able to deal with multiple systems and stakeholders with ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
-
Experience in managing and interfacing with the shared service centre
-
Positive attitude, adaptable to change, able to handle ambiguity
-
Good experience in month-end/year-end closing process
-
Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion, TM1, FDW, Power BI, SalesForce etc. is an added advantage
-
Self-starter – able to work remotely effectively with guidance
