As a Field Training Manager on the Mr. Rooter Plumbing team, a typical day for you will include:

  • Providing initial and follow-up training for franchise business owners, their office staff, and their technicians on all matters pertaining to field operations.

  • Planning, developing, and maintaining technical training programs, manuals, and multimedia aids to meet industry standards and brand goals.

  • Collaborating with the Mr. Rooter team to develop brand strategies, analyze training effectiveness, and build relationships with vendors and suppliers.

  • Researching, testing, and evaluating new products and equipment for field effectiveness before rolling them out to the franchise system.

(Required qualifications)

  • Experience:

    • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or a similar service industry.

    • Two (2) or more years of experience in a training, teaching, or instructional design role.

    • Prior franchise experience is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with franchisees, technicians, and corporate personnel.

    • Strong writing and record-keeping ability for developing training manuals and reports.

    • Knowledgeable about standard industry practices, emerging technologies, and business decision strategies like cost analyses.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • Extremely organized, team-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.

  • Education:

    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

    • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Schedule / in-office requirements:

    • This position requires up to 30% travel to franchise locations.

    • When not traveling, this role follows a hybrid working model; Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday/Friday from home.

    • Our office locations are at:

      • 1010 N University Parks Drive, Waco, TX
