Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial water treatment systems at customer sites. This role is hands-on and customer-facing, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and diesel-powered systems. Technicians will serve as key representatives of Xylem in the field—ensuring systems are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably, while delivering outstanding service and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field service activities, including diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems
Deliver and set up equipment/materials at customer sites as needed
Proactively identify and resolve safety issues involving company- and customer-owned equipment
Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, inspections, and customer interactions
Promote a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement
Ensure proper care, handling, and maintenance of company tools and equipment
Work independently or collaboratively as part of a project team, depending on scope
Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
Participate in planning and safety meetings and adhere to all company policies and procedures
Travel as needed, including overnight stays, based on business needs
Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2–5 years of relevant technical or field service experience, preferably in industrial or commercial water systems or similar environments
Prior experience with diesel engines, mechanical systems, or electrical troubleshooting strongly preferred
Experience working in field-based roles or remote environments
Strong technical aptitude in mechanical, electrical, or diesel systems (specific to business unit)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and smart devices
Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting ability
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and performance excellence
Ability to obtain TWIC, DISA, and other customer-specific clearances
Passport eligibility for cross-border work is a plus
Class A CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 25% travel required, including overnight stays depending on project location
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $26 to $29 per hour. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
