Field Recruiter - Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

 

Position Overview:

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Field Recruiter to drive the recruitment and talent acquisition efforts for Horace Mann's growing network of exclusive insurance and financial services agents. The role will focus solely on attracting 1099 captive agents. This role is pivotal in sourcing and attracting entrepreneurial, self-motivated individuals to own and operate agencies, while promoting business growth and enhancing the brand's presence in local markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in recruitment, strong networking abilities, and a passion for building long-term talent pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Sourcing & Recruitment:

  • Partner with regional and district teams to identify, source, and recruit entrepreneurial individuals for exclusive insurance and financial services agent roles.
  • Collaborate with recruiting team & leader to develop and execute customized sourcing and recruitment strategies based on the requirements of the agent role.
  • Utilize a mix of active and passive recruitment techniques, including internet sourcing, job fairs, cold calling, and direct mail campaigns, to attract high-quality talent.

Market Presence & Engagement:

  • Enhance Horace Mann's brand visibility via LinkedIn and,  if applicable, in local markets through community engagement, relationship-building with community leaders, and attendance at key events.
  • Advocate for the company's reputation and foster positive public relations efforts in collaboration with field sales management.

Relationship Building & Networking:

  • Build and nurture professional relationships with industry networks and external stakeholders to identify top-tier talent for exclusive agent opportunities.
  • Collaborate with HR and internal teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and legal requirements during the recruitment process.

Strategic Workforce Planning:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of regional appointment needs and the Horace Mann Value Proposition, aligning recruitment strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline to support long-term business growth and succession planning.

Data & Reporting:

  • Track, measure, and report on recruitment activities and sourcing strategies on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement.
  • Educate and guide field leaders on best practices in sourcing and recruiting talent to optimize local recruitment efforts.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Act as a strategic partner to field sales management, ensuring recruitment efforts align with corporate goals and contribute to the seamless candidate experience.
  • If applicable, serve as a liaison between recruiting leader and HR to address challenges, optimize processes, and drive improved recruitment outcomes.

 

Additional Information:

 

  • This role is fully remote and requires a quiet, distraction-free home office environment
  • Periodic travel may be required for recruitment events, relationship-building, and other on-site activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of recruiting experience, ideally in the insurance, finance, or sales sectors.
  • Proven ability to source, attract, and recruit financial advisors, agents, or similar roles.
  • Strong networking skills with a focus on relationship-building in local communities and professional networks.
  • Ability to travel as needed for recruitment events, job fairs, and other on-site activities.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and required recruitment tools.

 

Pay Range:

 

  • $61,900.00 - $91,300.00 (expected starting pay $70,000-75,000)

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
