About this opportunity:
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced telecom professional to join as a Field Mentor, supporting ASP teams in site training, installation, and quality assurance for Ericsson RBS and transmission systems. This role focuses on on-site coaching, technical supervision, EHS compliance, and ensuring strict adherence to Ericsson and customer standards. As a Field Mentor, you will play a key role in developing ASP teams through hands-on guidance in installation, integration, fault-finding, and testing on RAN and transmission networks. You will track team performance, verify site readiness, ensure documentation accuracy, and maintain high safety and quality standards across all project activities.
What you will do:
- Conduct on-site training and coaching for ASP teams.
- Address skill and performance gaps identified during theoretical and practical sessions.
- Submit daily progress reports to the ASP Manager and Mentor.
- Verify site readiness, including civil and power work, and ensure survey data validation on-site.
- Confirm material verification against SMR and report deviations promptly.
- Ensure EHS pre-work checks are completed and closed on time.
- Oversee site installations to ensure compliance with MOPs, Ericsson standards, and customer quality requirements.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration activities with the back-office team.
- Ensure teams upload all required data and photos for RSC Pre-PAT/FTR and resolve QA/FTR snags promptly.
- Verify completion of SRS and IMK/ESI tests and submit logs to the project team.
- Support material dismantling, packing, and customer site acceptance processes.
- Supervise and train ASP teams on installation and RF/Transmission fault-finding, including:
- VSWR testing
- Sector swaps and tilts
- Connector replacement
- RF/IF cabling
- RAN/Transmission integration and testing
- Conduct quality audits and evaluate team performance and knowledge growth.
- Identify and report risks affecting safety, workflow, or quality through proper channels.
- Manage team KPIs: Quality (FTR/NFTR/QI), Safety (FTP/NFTP), session duration, and adherence to installation standards.
The skills you bring:
- RBS 6000 installation and configuration (2G/3G/LTE)
- Script loading, alarm clearance, and fault finding on RBS 6000 systems
- RF installation, testing, and fault-finding (VSWR, DTF, etc.)
- Basic software commissioning and system verification
- Transmission systems knowledge (preferred)
- Civil work understanding and quality assurance
- Technical site surveys (TSSR), site planning, and readiness assessment
- Adherence to telecommunications equipment installation standards
