About the role

We’re looking for a Field Marketing specialist to help us transform the dairy and beef industry as we scale rapidly across New Zealand and Australia. Halter is creating a completely new way of farming - giving farmers more data, quicker execution and time back to focus on things they love. Field marketing is a vital bridge between our inspiring farmers and our groundbreaking product. We’re looking for that special person, with the ultimate can-do attitude, to help tell our story across NZ and Australia.

You will be working with our customer teams to plan and execute on regional and national events, ranging from farm open days to celebrations with Halter customers to trade shows and expos. You will get to be out in the field, capturing content with our farmers, telling stories, and bringing the magic of Halter to life.

What your day could look like

  • Planning, executing and tracking our range of field marketing activities.
  • Independently coordinate marketing and community events. This will include: Working closely with designers and vendors to create collateral and to enhance our site design for events. Collaborating with the marketing and customer teams to manage registrations, including sending out reminder emails, texts and retrospectives surveys.
  • Reviewing field marketing data, to make sure we are constantly improving our processes and outcomes. For example, reviewing event registrations against actual attendance and collating insights from farmers during and after events.
  • Work with our customer team to arrange merchandise orders for existing and pipeline customers.
  • Supporting our content and design team by actively creating content in the field: Capturing epic photos, gathering insightful quotes and conducting engaging interviews with our farmers.

Who are we looking for

  • Phenomenal can-do attitude: Thriving on details, you will be committed to making each event a success, and to constantly improving how the Halter brand is brought to life in our communities. You will have a track record of delivering creative solutions in record time.
  • An exceptional communicator: You will be great at written and verbal comms, shifting easily from presenting to our internal teams, to working with agencies, to chatting to farmers out in the field.
  • An experience creator: An event isn’t just an event, it’s a chance to get to know who Halter is as a company. You will bring this to life in every event you run, going above and beyond to help our market and customers connect with us and the farming revolution we are leading.
  • Gritty when needed: You will be used to managing budgets and setting up scalable processes for organising events and merchandise, but you’ll also be resourceful and quick thinking, for when those inevitable changes come up at an event or in the middle of filming on farm.
  • Happy getting out your gumboots: It’s a bonus if you have experience in the agricultural sector, or if you’ve worked in Dairy Farming, but it’s a necessity that you’re happy to get out in the paddocks. This role will involve travel in New Zealand, and at times Australia, for events or working with our customers and sales teams.

Our Office First Approach

There’s a reason you visit your friends in person, live with your family and don’t do dinners over Zoom. Humans are wired for connection. We believe a world-class, in-person office culture is the best way for high-performing teams.

Being office first is a core pillar of our culture. We believe in-person connections are key to driving your own growth, learning, impact, and building genuine long-lasting relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful and aligned work. We don’t like having heaps of rules or policies, but this means having strong, trusted relationships is critical.

We’re office first, not office only. This means working from the office everyday is our default setting, but we flex when we need to. We have a high-trust culture, so everyone is trusted to do what’s best for Halter.

Our office vibe is something special, it’s hard to describe until you’re here, but people at Halter who have come from fully remote or hybrid companies say they could never go back - the high energy and spectacular people they are now surrounded by everyday makes work so enjoyable. Your growth, your learning and your impact is truly unlimited here, and a big part of that comes from being together solving problems, innovating, building context, and constantly learning from each other.
