This position serves to expedite the quality construction of ALLO’s outside fiber plant by working closely with ALLO’s Design department and affiliated contractor(s) to delight both internal and external customers. Our Field Engineers assure that ALLO construction is completed safely, ahead of schedule and fully to specifications. JOB SUMMARY:

  • Manage relationships with contractors, municipal inspectors and internal customers.
  • Execute plan sets in the field, iterating with designers and contractors as needed.
  • Inspect completed work and submit red-line edits to design.
  • Manage multiple conflicting priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to Continuous Process Improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal regulations, city ordinances and departmental policies.
  • Provide feedback to trainers and the leadership team regarding performance.
  • Research and resolve complex and unique scenarios.
  • Work with internal and external customers to resolve fiber-related issues.
  • Provide backup support as directed by leadership team.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Basic knowledge of fiber optic OSP Construction and the finished product with customer satisfaction. 
  • Organizational and communication skills are essential.

COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES: 

  • Thorough knowledge of fiber design.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and GIS/CAD.
  • Skill to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, contractors and company employees.
  • Good negotiating skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Attention to detail is paramount.
  • Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions.
  • Ability to work independently on multifaceted projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present facts clearly and accurately in graphic form.
  • Demonstrate ability to train and lead others, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and make independent decisions within guidelines.
  • Previous experience in the communication industry a plus.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
