Title: Senior Manager - Field Architect 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

The Field Architect serves as a strategic solution advisor and product architecture expert, representing, implementing and enhancing Duck Creek’s technology vision and design principles for Engineering, customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. 

This role is meant for a technically strong, business-savvy professional who can connect engineering, product, and customer needs, ensuring clear communication of Duck Creek’s architectural rationale and hands-on technical guidance. 

 This role also includes responsibility for the high-level design/architecture decisions and driving continuous improvement in architecture and engineering across the whole Suite of software products.     

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serve as the primary architecture and solution expert to engineering, customers and partners, articulating the rationale, value, design and of Duck Creek’s architecture to address given challenges/problem statement. 
  • Provide guidance on product architecture, integrations, extensibility, and cloud deployment models. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Engineering teams to relay field insights and ensure architectural consistency across Engineering & Customer solutions. 
  • Conduct architecture deep-dives, design walkthroughs, and technical review sessions with customers and partner teams. 
  • Develop and demonstrate hands-on prototypes, technical accelerators, and proof-of-concepts to validate and promote architectural best practices. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor for technical and functional architecture-related queries from customers, Key technology vendors and delivery partners. 
  • Advocate best practices around performance, scalability, maintainability, and compliance using Duck Creek’s reference architecture. 
  • Partner with Program Management, Product, and Engineering to ensure technical alignment of ongoing and upcoming initiatives. 
  • Participate in pre-sales and solution discovery discussions to strengthen customer confidence in Duck Creek’s platform design and architectural approach. 
  • Develop and deliver technical enablement sessions, whitepapers, and field guides to promote architecture awareness and consistency across teams. 
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among field, support, and product teams to accelerate solution maturity and adoption. 
  • Mentor and help develop engineers and architects in their career growth.    

WHAT YOU’VE DONE 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 
  • 10+ years of experience in software architecture, solution design, or technical consulting in enterprise software environments. 
  • Proven experience engaging with customers and partners in technical advisory or solution architect roles. 
  • Deep expertise in enterprise application architecture, including microservices, APIs, integrations, and SaaS/PaaS models. 
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Preferably Azure) and cloud-native design principles. 
  • Familiarity with insurance domain systems preferred. 
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design (.NET and Java) and database concepts, with the ability to perform limited hands-on design or prototyping when needed. 
  • Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex architecture concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated success building customer confidence and influencing architecture decisions. 
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently in customer-facing scenarios. 

WHAT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW 

  • Travel: Occasional (10–20%), as required for engagement and collaboration. 
  • Location: Flexible / Remote.
