Pay Scale: $85k-90k
Summary:
This position provides nursing services to the medical unit and both administrative and clinical supervision for central nursing staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative and clinical supervision to all direct reports. This included handling all administrative duties such as evaluations, hiring, disciplinary and termination. Ensures required trainings and licensures are maintained. Creates and monitors central nurses' schedule, ensures appropriate RN coverage for the FBCs. Provides 24/7 on call consultation for nursing and med tech staff.
- Provides clinical supervision for all FBC nursing and med tech staff and assists center directors with evaluation process and disciplinary issues re: nursing practice, client care. Facilitates training of nurses and medication aids/techs. Participates in regularly scheduled oversight meetings to consult on and update the Medical Director and Chief Program Officer on nurses' status/issues.
- Provides assessment for admission, medication administration, and medication education on an as needed basis in order to maintain appropriate RN coverage for all FBCs. Monitors medication errors and provides education and training as needed. Monitors pharmacy functioning and troubleshoots when necessary to ensure FBCs have a ro riate medication available.
- Remains updated on current nursing trends/ policies/ procedures and assists to kee other nurses u to date
- Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly responsible for administrative supervision of all Centeral Nurses. Provides direct clinical supervision to nursing and med tech staff. Provides input to CPO and center directors on administrative issues involving nursing staff.

Education and/or Experience: Must be licensed as RN in NC with minimum of Associate Degree in Nursing. A four year BS degree in nursing is preferred. Prefer four years of experience in psychiatric nursing with minimum of 1 year supervisor/management experience. Actual work experience will be considered in addition to other requirements.

- Prefer four years of experience in psychiatric nursing
- Prefer minimum of one year supervisory/management experience
- Ability to provide administrative supervision (evaluations, hiring, disciplinary, scheduling)
- Ability to provide clinical supervision, training, and oversight of nursing and med tech staff
- Experience with medication administration, medication education, and monitoring medication errors
- Availability to provide 24/7 on-call consultation
- Strong psychosocial and clinical assessment skills; effective communication and crisis decision-making
