MANAGER

Your role as Production Manager:
You will primarily be responsible for
providing support and assistance to the Operations Manager to oversee the production process, ensure efficient and timely
completion of orders, manage the production team, monitor inventory and maintain
quality standards. You will develop and implement production schedules, and
workflows, as well as analyse the production process to identify areas for
improvement.
The ideal candidate
This role is best suited for an
experienced production manager with a keen interest in fashion, and a strong
background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related field. You
should have excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills,
with the ability to manage and motivate teams and make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily activities of
the in-house production team, including sewing machine operators, pattern
cutters, and finishers.
- Ensure production targets are met while
maintaining quality standards and adhering to deadlines.
- Monitor production progress,
identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimise
efficiency.
- Implement best practices in
sewing techniques, equipment utilisation, and workflow management.
- Collaborate with the
maintenance team to ensure sewing equipment is properly maintained and
serviced to prevent downtime.
- Implement inventory control
measures to minimise waste, prevent stock-outs, and optimise storage space
utilisation.
- Delegate tasks effectively, set
clear expectations, and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Ensure compliance with company
policies, safety regulations, and ethical labour practices within the
production team.
- Participate in production
planning meetings to provide input on capacity, timelines, and resource
allocation
- Keep abreast with industry
trends and best practices in sustainable production and ethical
manufacturing
- Identify and implement
cost-saving measures within the production process without compromising
quality or ethical standards.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Fashion
Design or other relevant fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
in a production supervisor role or similar within the fashion/garment industry.
- Strong experience managing
in-house production teams and overseeing the entire production process from
pattern cutting to finishing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement
methodologies
- Strong
understanding of garment construction techniques, sewing methods, fabric types,
and quality standards in apparel manufacturing.
- Proficiency
in operating various industrial sewing machines and familiarity with different
sewing techniques.
- Knowledge of fashion
industry trends and quality control procedures
- Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office
Suites, (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software
is an added advantage
- Must be analytical and detail
oriented.
- Available to work flexible
hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and
time management skills.

Skills Required
