Our client is a thriving agricultural enterprise
specializing in tree crops and vegetable farming in the eastern region of Ghana.
Scope
The Farm Supervisor will primarily oversee daily farming
operations and ensure the production of high quality crops while managing farm
resources, including labour, equipment, and inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and
implement crop production plans, including crop selection, planting schedules,
and harvesting plans.
- Supervise
daily farm operations to achieve high productivity, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and
disease management, and harvesting.
- Recruit and
train new employees on on-farm technology.
- Supervise and
manage farm staff, including training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary
actions.
- Manage stocks
and supplies of harvested produce to meet daily demands from the markets
- Provide
monthly farm operations reports to inform management of current farm status.
- Ensure proper
maintenance and utilization of farm equipment, tools, and inputs.
- Maintain accurate and
up-to-date records of farm activities, including crop yields, soil testing, and weather data.
- Monitor and
ensure high-quality crop production, including regular field inspections and
quality control measures.
- Assist in
preparing and managing farm budgets, including expense tracking and financial
reporting.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Crop Science, or other related
fields.
- Minimum of 5
years’ experience in farm management, preferably in tree crops and vegetable
farming.
- Prior
experience in greenhouse farming is an added advantage.
- Strong
knowledge of crop production, soil science, and pest management.
- Excellent
leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise
farm staff.
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with
stakeholders, including farmers, suppliers, and buyers.
- Must be
familiar with farm equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Ability to
work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient in
Microsoft Office and farm management software.
