- One-Year Residency: This track allows individuals to focus on a specific ministry area based on their calling, offering practical ministry experience and leadership training. Each resident will be paired with a ministry coach for professional development and a mentor for spiritual guidance. Residents will work 20-25 hours per week, with goals including practical ministry exposure, leadership development, and navigating the support-raising process.
- Two-Year Fellowship: Designed for those called specifically to pastoral ministry, church planting, or missions, this track involves a 25-30 hour weekly commitment. Fellows will have the opportunity to raise support, earn a master’s degree, complete ordination requirements, and gain extensive practical ministry experience under the guidance of seasoned coaches and mentors.

- Phase 1 - Apply (10-15 minutes questionnaire to collect more detailed employment information)

- Phase 2 - Ministry Assessment (~60-minute questionnaire covering topics related to being a ministry worker)
- Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be sent an email with a link to complete your Ministry Assessment.
- Phase 3 - Local Assessment
- The local supervisor(s) for this position will review your application, potentially reaching out to conduct an interview.
Upon provisional acceptance, you will register for support-raising training run by Reliant to start your support-based ministry journey.
Skills Required
- Called to ministry, pastoral ministry, church planting, or missions
- Commit to program length and weekly hours: One-year residency (20-25 hrs/week) or Two-year fellowship (25-30 hrs/week)
- Complete application phases including online application, Ministry Assessment, and local assessment/interview
- Willingness to participate in support-raising training and to engage in raising ministry support
- Work under guidance of assigned ministry coach and spiritual mentor
- Opportunity to pursue a master’s degree and complete ordination requirements (primarily for two-year fellowship)
What We Do
Reliant Mission partners with churches and nonprofits to support employed ministry programs, focusing on the development of character, skills, and doctrine. They provide participants with applicant assessment, support raising training, coaching, and employment-related guidance, while managing the salary and benefits for those in their short-term or two-year residency and internship programs.
