Machinery Manufacturing has an opening for a Fabricator. While reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient performance of all duties.
The Fabricator will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform and array of tasks including; precision material cutting using a laser cutter, torches, plasma, band saws, and shearing, metal forming using heating, forging, and bending, building frames, guarding and other machine components with and without formal drawings, various forms of welding, grinding, deburring, equipment assembly, painting, and various other materials fabrication equipment including related hand tools.
What you will be doing:
Performs precision cutting of a variety of materials by the use of torches, plasma, cutting tables, iron work and shear.
Forms metals using heating, forging, and bending.
Builds machines and components with and without formal drawings using all forms of metal working machinery and all types of welders.
Ability to check your part quality using machine shop measuring instruments, (OD/ID mic’s, calipers, depth mics, scales, tape measure, etc.), so as to not pass on defective part to the next process wasting additional time.
Will be capable of welding in awkward positions such as heights, cramped areas and from ladders.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks to ensure machine longevity, including lubrication, cleaning and tool replacement.
We'd love to hear from you if:
Knowledge to effectively weld different types of materials using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and standard stick
Individual must be educated in shop math and blueprint reading along with knowing Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing .
3-5 years working with metal fabrication including welding and cutting
Must be certified in at least one type of welding.
Must possess a thorough knowledge of setting up and the operation of all welding and metal working equipment.
Must be capable of building jigs and developing sheet metal layouts.
Technical degree in Welding or Metal Fabrication
