Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, assists in the fabrication of steel parts and tools to be used in the waste manufacturing process.
Pay rate: $20.05
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabricate steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blue prints
- Positions and clamps, stops, and side guides to set length and angle of cut
- May turn handwheels to adjust rake (angle) and pressure of blade
- Lifts workpiece manually or by hoist or crane to machine bed or roller table and positions it against side guide and end stops.
- Lays out cutting lines on metal when shearing single pieces
- Lays out bending lines on metal when bending single pieces
- Tilts bed, blade, or installs fixtures to shear, bevel, or trim fabricated items
- Inspects work to verify dimensions
- Clean area at end of shift
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned by the supervisor or lead.
- Successfully pass all EHS required tests and clearances
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 1+ years prior production experience
- Prior experience operating a Press Brake and/or Shear and set up experience a plus
- Understanding of basic CNC controls
- Ability to read blue prints and measuring tape
- Basic math and problem solving skills
- Experience in a fast paced production environment a plus
- Experience operating a forklift a plus
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Position will require standing at all times
- Position will require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs most of the time and over 50 lbs occasionally.
- Position will require pushing and pulling most of the time.
- Position will have exposure to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, oil, and grease at all times.
- Position will have exposure to smoke at times.

Skills Required
- At least 1 year of prior production experience
- Ability to read blueprints and use a measuring tape
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of basic CNC controls
- Ability to successfully pass all required EHS tests and clearances
- Prior experience operating a press brake and/or shear
- Press brake and/or shear setup experience
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment
- Experience operating a forklift
- Ability to stand continuously and lift up to 50 pounds most of the time, with occasional lifting over 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull most of the time in an industrial environment
