GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for fabricating activities under the direction of the Fabrication Foreman, including but not limited to welding, shearing,
bending, burning, and machine maintenance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs fabricating activities as required to meet production schedules.
- Perform duties and activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Communicates departmental information to Fabrication Supervisor on a daily basis or as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment, including routine and preventative maintenance.
- Operation of overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Responsible for keeping a neat and organized work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and fabricate according to blueprints
- Communication (including both written and verbal)
- Willingness to follow both instructions and direction
- Show proficiency in basic mathematics and have ability to read measuring equipment (tape measure, square, etc.)
- Ability to perform all essential functions of this job
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Welding degree preferred, but not required. Experience in stick, fluxcore, short arc, carbon arc gouging, and tig welding along with soldering is highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting a maximum of 50 pounds. This job requires extensive amounts of walking, standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, climbing as required to effectively perform the job.
