Position:         Food and Beverage Supervisor

Job Summary: 

Supervises and schedules the front of house staff.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

  • Recommends menu items and production procedures for the Front of House, controls costs, and manages the budget.
  • Maintains a high standard of professionalism and works well with the kitchen staff to expedite guest orders promptly.
  • Completes communication notebook after each shift; documents shift accomplishments and issues for department manager review for each shift.
  • Runs a clock in, clock out reading at the beginning of each shift and makes necessary adjustments to the Agilysys point of sales system.
  • Adjusts ticket transactions such as voids, splitting, and transferring checks.
  • Ensures all purveyor invoices are sent on a timely basis to Accounts Payable for reconciliation and payment processing.
  • Posts and distributes memos from other departments making sure staff are aware of important information.
  • Assists with maintaining the department filing system by filing memos, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Controls the restaurant ambiance to ensure a pleasant dining experience for the guests by adjusting the TV noise level or taking other action.
  • Performs inventory and reconciliation procedures of Food and Beverage merchandise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Essential functions of the position:

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach high areas, stoop, pull, push, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and bend for duties.
  • Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
  • Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
  • Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by two-way radio, telephone, and written correspondence.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of modern filing and recordkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of budgetary principles and practices.
  • Skill with Agilysys point of sales system.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests in a professional manner when approaching.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate track record of reliability, responsiveness, and punctuality.
  • Ability to demonstrate track record of providing excellent guest service.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and be fiscally prudent in recommending and/or selecting vendors, materials, and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  • One (1) year experience in the food service industry, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience in inventory control.
  • Must obtain valid food handler’s and alcohol awareness cards within 90 days of employment.
  • Must provide proof of sanitation training.
  • Computer proficiency with the Agilysys point of sales system and other point of Sales (POS) systems.
  • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to obtain, and retain a valid gaming license/background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Skills Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year experience in the food service industry, including supervisory experience
  • Experience in inventory control
  • Obtain valid food handler's and alcohol awareness cards within 90 days
  • Provide proof of sanitation training
