Summary
The Private Events Manager is responsible for outreach selling, booking and planning social and corporate events for the Resort’s restaurants and bars. The principle responsibilities are as follows: sales, planning and organizing social and corporate events of 10 people or more, administration and communication.
Essential Functions
Job duties include, although are not limited to:
• Sell group dining and special events in our restaurants and bars.
• Assist restaurant leadership in maintaining social and corporate accounts for the Resort’s dining venues which consistently provide top quality event management and services with the explicit goal of facilitating, re-booking, and enhancing Resort profit margin.
• Follow through with inquiries properly, blocks definite business through proposals and appropriate agreements and contracts. Check available space and maximize utilization of space.
• Meet with the clients to ascertain all details of events; oversee functions.
Internal Relationships
Food and Beverage Outlets, Culinary Area, Sales & Marketing Department, Catering/Convention/Banquet/Setup/AV Operations, Boca By Design, All Activity, Retail, Support Departments, and Front Office Operations.
External Relationships
Club Members, All Potential Clients, Meeting Planners, Production Companies and Vendors.
Qualifications
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Working knowledge of Food and Beverage sales as well as Hotel Operations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
• Must possess moderate computer skills.
Education/Experience Requirements
Hotel or Hospitality Degree at Bachelors Level, an unrelated degree with relevant hospitality experience can be considered. Minimum 4 years in Banquet / Catering / Convention / or Food and Beverage related operation. Working knowledge of computer systems. Personal appearance and grooming commensurate with high profile nature of job.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity Must be able to properly lift 50 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop or bend for duration of shift (at least 8 hours).
