Summary
Assist the Optometrist/Ophthalmologist by performing the following tasks:
Support daily clinic operations and administrative tasks.
Prepare patients for vision exams and assist with diagnostic testing.
Assist providers during laser and surgical procedures.
Educate patients on the proper use of contact lenses.
Assist with contact lens and orders.
Maintain exam room supplies, inventory, and clean clinical instruments and equipment.
Schedule
- Casual, various weekday shifts, typically 7:00AM to 3:00PM
- No guaranteed hours. Pick up shifts as needed.
- Work more hours during orientation.
Pay
Starting pay begins at $25.70 per hour and increases with experience
- Pay range: $25.70 - $38.57 per hour
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical terminology required.
- Graduate of optometric assistant program preferred.
- One or more years of experience in the field preferred.
- Clear focus on high-quality work and customer service.
- Self-motivated, results oriented with a positive outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to deal with people in a tactful and courteous manner.
- High degree of confidentiality.
- Computer skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
