CIMIC Group is seeking a Senior Manager Commercial & Risk to join its Risk, Commercial and PreContracts team. This role supports the CPB business and will provides leadership and strategic oversight of commercial and risk management activities across major bids and tenders for CPB, ensuring the identification, assessment, mitigation and governance of key commercial, contractual, financial and delivery risks, while supporting a client-focused approach aligned to business objectives.
About the Role
This role reports to the Head of Pre-Contracts & Risk and key responsibilities include:
Lead the commercial and risk management process across major bids and tenders
Oversee identification and assessment of key risks, including scope, time, financial and contractual risks
Ensure all bids adopt a client-focused approach without exposing the business to unacceptable risk
Ensure completion and quality of Commercial and Contract Risk Assessments (CCRA) in collaboration with legal teams
Lead and facilitate structured risk review sessions across all bids
Ensure all identified risks have robust and agreed mitigation strategies
Lead, mentor and develop a team of commercial managers supporting major bids
Foster a high-performance, collaborative and accountable culture
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Commerce, Quantity Surveying or similar)
Extensive experience in commercial management of major construction projects
Strong understanding of construction project delivery and associated commercial and contractual risks
Significant experience in tendering, contract negotiation, and risk assessment
Advanced knowledge of contract structures, procurement models and risk allocation
Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing teams
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
Strategic thinking and commercial acumen
