Are you fun, energetic, and passionate about delivering exceptional service? We’re excited to open our Expressions of Interest for our permanent, part-time Passenger Assistant positions where you will join our Auckland Airports team. 

As a Passenger Assistant, you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, providing them with professional and compassionate support as well as delighting them with your Kiwi charm and ensuring a smooth journey from check-in to boarding. 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Meet, greet, and assist passengers at check in, departure, arrivals, and baggage hall to ensure customers with special requirements are met in a timely and friendly manner
  • Assist and support passengers with reduced mobility which will include pushing wheelchairs and lifting luggage in accordance with USDOT requirements
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints in an empathetic and professional manner  
  • Escort unaccompanied minors through various checkpoints with care and confidence
  • This role upholds all relevant Airport standards and regulations so you will need to prioritise safety and security procedures at all times. Don’t worry, comprehensive training will be provided if successful! 

What You’ll Need: 

  • NZ/AU Citizenship or NZ Permanent Residency (required at time of application)
  • NZ Full Driver’s Licence (required at time of application) and reliable transport. We are unable to progress your application if you do not currently hold a NZ Full Driver's Licence   
  • This is a physically demanding role so you will need to be physically fit and capable of standing/walking for extended periods of time as well as capable of manual handling. You may be walking up to 8km per shift
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role. Having experience in a physically demanding role as well as customer-service is a bonus! 
  • A resilient, self-motivated attitude with strong prioritisation skills
  • Great communication skills with a warm, engaging personality—and a big smile! 

Roster & Hours:  

  • The airport operates 24/7, so you’ll work rotating shifts across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Shifts range from 3 to 10 hours, with rosters set fortnightly. You must be available to work up to 6-days in a row with shifts starting as early as 4:00am and finishing as late as 2:00am. Hours of work are between 50 - 70 per fortnight.
