Summary: Execute exports sales contracts across multiple commodities. Efficiently work with internal and external logistics partners to properly execute contracts. Work closely with our export sales customers to ensure product is delivered as needed and with proper documentation needed to meet destination country and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with national and local trade execution partners
  • Review and understand export contracts and Letter of Credit terms for completeness and accuracy to generate export documents necessary to assure payment for goods
  • Work directly with service providers (Ocean Carriers, Freight Forwarders, surveyors, labs, transloaders, etc) to act on behalf of Green Plains to conduct operations necessary per export trade obligations and to secure documents for export
  • Ensure goods are shipped in line with obligations to the sales contract
  • Communicate with marketing and logistics teams with any inventory or product specification items
  • Coordinate bookings and container logistics
  • Negotiate detention and demurrage claims for export movements
  • Review payable invoices for accuracy with all export parties
  • Maintain communication with logistics and credit department receivables to maintain operations
  • Work effectively within a team environment and independently
  • Assist in month end inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Agribusiness or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in importing/exporting required
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational and follow up skills
  • Strong mathematical and computation skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience with other Microsoft Office products
  • Understand standard export documentation (Commercial Invoice, Pack List, Certificate of Origin, Ocean and Air Bill of Lading's)
  • Knowledge & understanding of Incoterms 2020
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to work with urgency and deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize different requests
  • Ability to meet physical demand of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer uses, frequent telephone use, some lifting or moving up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to work after hours/weekends and on call as needed.
  • Valid driver's license required.
