Export Finance Paris Intern (f/m/x)

We are looking for an intern for 6 months starting in January 2027.

About the role

The Intern will strengthen the existing DB Structured Trade and Export Finance (STEF) Paris Front Office team that is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of export credit facilities, with the support of Export Credit Agencies or private risk insurers, for the financing of the commercial contracts of Deutsche Bank’s exporting and importing clients worldwide (Corporates and Sovereigns). The main mission will be to assist and provide support to the Front Office team in their day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities:

·      Support the team in its origination efforts, as well as in the execution phase and portfolio management of its lending book.

·      Assist in the preparation of client presentations, meeting materials and call reports, as well as commercial proposals, including mandate letters, term sheets, pitch books and information memoranda.

·      Support the completion of transaction due diligence processes, including credit, KYC, environmental and social, anti-financial crime and reputational risk assessments, as well as transaction profitability analysis and the preparation of credit memoranda.

·      Support the negotiation and execution of legal documentation by liaising with external legal counsel, borrowers, exporters and syndicate banking partners, while ensuring effective coordination and handover with Middle Office, Back Office and other internal support functions.

·      Coordinate with Middle Office teams on portfolio management activities in relation to loan utilizations, monitoring borrower compliance with reporting and financial covenants, and supporting internal reporting requirements.

Mandatory Skills:

• Must be eligible to work in France with a valid convention de stage.
• Fluency in both French and English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated and capable of working independently while demonstrating strong initiative.
• Strong team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a high level of rigor.
• Strong interest in the banking and finance industry, with a solid understanding of financing products and market dynamics.

Preferred Skills:

• Fluency in Spanish would be a plus.
• Previous internship(s) experience in Structured Finance, Corporate Banking Products and / or Corporate Coverage would be highly valued.

• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
