Job Description
Join our international C/TXE team as the Manager for Export Control Compliance Organization in Egypt. You will provide strategic export control insights into current and future business opportunities by anticipating potential risks and implementing effective mitigation measures. You will lead the implementation of regional and local processes, conduct effective risk management for the region or country, and establish necessary controls and audits. Additionally, you will deploy global standards and guidelines in the areas of export controls and sanctions law at the regional level and be responsible for drafting additional national and regional policies. As part of a strong network of regional and national Export Control Officers, you will collaborate in a multicultural environment and exchange knowledge with experts from around the world. The detailed duties as shown below:
- Policy and Process
- Policy Implementation and Execution
- Responsibility for compliance with export control regulations (based on the entity’s risk profile), implements and monitors the requirements of the Global Standards and Procedures within his area of responsibility.
- Performing ongoing self-assessments and onboarding of Local Coordinators
- Consulting for all Export Control related questions on local level
- Transferring and implementing globally defined processes to regional/local level where required
- Monitoring of national export control law changes
- Adjusting standard processes due to local legal requirements
- Performing Export control related documentation & retention obligation
- Ensure operational tasks as described in policy are performed accordingly
- Export Control Classification based on US, EU and national law
- Export control license determination and application
- EC related documentation & retention obligation
- Conduction of export control checks based on locally applicable laws
- Handling of export control blocks e.g. in the central global trade system
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Information to C/TXE-ECO in case of risk rating changes during the year
- Monitor continuously the business activities in the area of responsibility and daily trade operations execution
- Executing annual Export Control review on export control risks, processes and measure/controls implemented (self-assessment) and issue report to defined stakeholders.
- Reviewing and releasing of business activities with respect to: Sensitive business activities (goods, end use, embargoed countries), Trading and brokering transactions, Technology transfer, Relocation of machinery and equipment, Delivery of product without material number
Contact with third parties and authorities:
- Local export control license application
- Reporting to local authorities and contact person and coordinator in case of local external and internal audits
For high risk entities:
- Reviewing and releasing the transfer/export of goods as well as any other cross-border business activity.
- Export Control related classification of goods specially designed / modified for military use or nationally con-trolled.
