The Expert QA Engineer plays a mission‑critical role in ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, scalable, and reliable software products. This senior individual contributor is expected to bring deep technical expertise, advanced automation capability, and strong quality engineering leadership. The Expert QA Engineer drives test strategy, enhances QA frameworks, influences engineering practices, and ensures product excellence through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and high‑coverage test cases based on functional and technical requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automated test suites across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Enhance automation frameworks and support CI/CD integration to improve test efficiency and speed.
- Execute both manual and automated tests, analyze results, and drive defect triage and root‑cause analysis.
- Set up, configure, and maintain test environments; create and execute SQL scripts for data validation.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Provide clear and accurate quality metrics, risk assessments, and testing progress updates to stakeholders.
- Evaluate and optimize QA processes, contributing to best practices, tooling enhancements, and workflow improvements.
- Review technical and product documentation, ensure readiness for pre‑GA releases, and support release validation activities.
- Lead or manage a team of QA Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure consistent quality standards and growth of the team.
- Act as a senior quality expert, championing quality engineering principles and influencing cross-team quality initiatives.
- 5+ years of advanced QA or Quality Engineering experience across manual and automation testing.
- Strong expertise in designing and executing automated tests and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Experience in enterprise software or financial services environments preferred.
- Proficient in SQL and relational database validation.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and automation best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in Agile, cross‑functional teams while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with automated testing tools (preferred) and the ability to build automation scripts.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to Python or Robot Framework is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Co‑Pilot productivity tools.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
