Since 2020, Sword has expanded across physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health, and is now moving beyond the session to a fully AI-native, 24/7 care program that brings physical activity, therapeutic exercise, psychotherapy, nutrition, and behavior change into one connected experience. More than 700,000 members across three continents have completed over 10 million AI sessions, helping 1,000+ enterprise clients avoid more than $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. Backed by 42 clinical studies, 44+ patents, and more than $500 million raised from leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund, Sword is defining a new standard for healthcare.
As an Expert Product Designer on the Web team, you'll own the design of Sword's web product surfaces, from first touch to ongoing member engagement. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product quality, systems thinking, and cross-functional execution.
Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity
Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team
Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale
AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword Health. Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework — be ready to share real examples of how AI is already part of how you work.
Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.
What you’ll be doing:
Own web products experiences end-to-end;
Take full design ownership of key web flows, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints across the full surface area;
Embrace a test-and-learn mindset grounded in data, usability insights, and user feedback;
Work alongside your PMs, tech lead, and engineering to co-design the best solutions and ensure smooth handoff;
Collaborate across Sword teams and with other designers to maintain consistency;
Contribute towards the broader Design System;
Use AI tools thoughtfully, to accelerate your workflow where it makes sense, and design AI-led product experiences that pair Human + AI for superior patient outcomes;
Stay curious about what's working, what's not, and why.
What you need to have:
5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on web flows, multi-step experiences, or user-facing product;
A portfolio that leads with measurable impact (before/after, metrics), demonstrable taste and craft, and shows a clear point of view, not just a process walkthrough;
Pro-level Figma skills and comfort prototyping at speed;
Strong accessibility knowledge (WCAG) and commitment to inclusive design;
Ability to read and interpret data;
Understanding of design systems;
Thoughtful use of AI in your design process - knowing when it helps and when it doesn't;
Design AI led product experiences.
What we would love to see:
Experience designing complex web flows, onboarding, multi-step forms, content-rich surfaces;
Background working across product verticals or platforms with shared web infrastructure;
Frontend knowledge, understanding how design decisions affect development;
Experience with analytics tools;
Side projects or products you've built yourself;
Health-tech experience (preferable, not required).
