As an Experience Designer within PNC's Tempus Technologies organization, you will be remotely based in the Scranton, PA market. This is a remote position. Work may be performed from a quiet, confidential space in a home location, approved by PNC. This position may not be available in all geographic locations.

As an Experience Designer, you will be part of a newly formed Product Design & Architecture team. This role will focus on UI/UX design from the beginning of the sales process through the completion of the software development process. The Experience Designer is part of a multidisciplinary team which is responsible for understanding business, functional and non-functional requirements, translating requirements into technical specifications for developers to code from, casting the big picture of what is being built to developers and communicating and explaining design and architecture decisions to stakeholders. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced software development environment where you will interface directly with internal/external stakeholders building Figma, mockups, and wireframes for a specific product, solution or process.
Due to the nature of this position, we are seeking creative candidates who have experience in building web and digital visual design & content as well as strong UI designs – building initial frameworks, content, & design. Additionally, preferred candidates will have experience working with user workflows, journey maps, mockups, wireframes, and prototypes. Candidates should also have strong analytic and communication skills, as well as the ability to perform research.

Job Description

  • Supports the transformation of tasks into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs through the entire experience lifecycle, from the first-time user to the expert.
  • Identifies and discovers customer and business needs through contextual inquiries, and generative and quantitative research, and identify solutions to meet those needs. Makes decisions of significant customer impact from wide array of possibilities, not limited to the Banking Industry.
  • Executes visual, information, interaction, and service design elements of the initiative that meets business and customer needs and delights customers. Communicates the initiative and product to others (Team Members) through user journeys, storyboards, prototypes, wireframes, and other materials.
  • Gauges the usability of new and existing products, and make constructive suggestions for change.
  • Conducts research studies and present findings that will inform improvements in the customer experience.

Group Facilitation – Ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions from group members, stimulate a focused group discussion, and achieve a desired outcome.

Product Development Life Cycle – Knowledge of and the ability to develop products and bring them into the marketplace.

Requirements Analysis – Knowledge of methods and techniques to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements; ability to analyze these requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Solutions Development – Knowledge of and the ability to assess customer needs and provide solutions for them.

User Experience Design – Knowledge of user experience design tools, techniques and approaches; ability to design applications that are valued, positively perceived and used by clients.

User Interface Design – Knowledge of activities, practices, deliverables and considerations; ability to design effective graphic user interfaces for delivery of information to the client's desktop workstation.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
