As an Experience Designer Lead within PNC's Retail Product Management & Development organization, this position will be located in Pittsburgh, PA or Columbus, OH.
You'll be a key player in shaping product design and digital strategy by collaborating with experience and content designers, digital product managers, and core line of business partners. You’ll use a clear voice to advocate for the small business customer along with strong technical design skills to deliver a best-in-class UI/UX.
You’ll work across these human-centered design practices:
Experience design artifact creation that tells a great story
Design research and usability testing
Visual and communication design
Interactive prototyping
In this role, you'll focus on:
-Applying your UI and UX skills to both established and new products and services with a mobile first mindset.
-The customer journey of shopping, applying, onboarding and servicing
-Money movement activities including digital payments and transactions
-Day-to-day business activities like understanding cash flow position and forecasting
-Creating strong visual presentations that tell a story and align stakeholders
-Using quantitative and qualitative data to inform your design decisions
-Developing UX artifacts and roadmaps
-Working with frameworks, systems, and components that aim to deliver consistent UX across a range of user touchpoints while ensuring the team is aligned
-Balancing designing for the “now” with identifying and pushing opportunities forward that break the mold
-Being a leader designing experiences across all aspects of the small business digital journey while mentoring other design team members
-Collaborating with digital product managers to refine requirements that create a shared vision and strategy for our digital experiences today and into the future

-Have experience designing for mobile applications and responsive environments
-Can utilize software design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
Job Description
- Transforms complex tasks into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs through the entire experience lifecycle, from the first-time user to the expert.
- Leads and guides the discovery of customer and business needs through contextual inquiries, generative and quantitative research. Uncovers customer latent needs and creates vision to meet those needs.
- Sets the design direction and strategy. Leads others to execute visual, information, interaction and service design elements of the initiative that meets business and customer needs and delights customers. Communicates the initiative and product to others, including senior management, through user journeys, storyboards, prototypes, wireframes and other materials.
- Sets the direction for usability of new and existing products, makes adjustments to align with shifting customer expectations.
- Establish research methods and strategies, conduct studies, and present findings that will inform improvements in the customer experience.
- Coaches and mentors junior staff; Assists management team in training new staff.
