As an Experience Design Senior Associate in Operations Experience Design (OXD), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our products and services by leveraging your advanced knowledge of experience design principles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, create innovative, inclusive, and accessible solutions that cater to a diverse range of users. As a core contributor, align user needs with business goals. Your strong understanding of the financial services industry and JPMC's IT systems will contribute to the continuous improvement of our offerings, navigating complex problems and driving strategic thinking. You'll be joining a tight-knit team within Operations Experience Design (OXD), focused on designing how people across Operations interact with AI/ML capabilities. We work closely with Data Science, Technology, and Operations partners to take new AI-driven tools from early concept through to production. The work is complex and often ambiguous, but we approach it with craft, care, and a genuine focus on outcomes that matter to the business. This is a collaborative team where your voice and perspective will matter from day one.


Job responsibilities

  • Design elegant solutions to specific interaction problems and ensure consistency across multiple products and platforms while adhering to industry best practices
  • Design the human-AI interaction experience for AI/ML capabilities being implemented in Operations, taking them from concept through to live production use, including the workflows, touchpoints, and operational models around them
  • Partner with Data Science, Technology, and Operations teams to define how AI/ML outputs are presented, explained, reviewed, and acted on within operational workflows
  • Apply advanced knowledge of information architecture and storyboarding to create user-centric designs that enhance navigation, findability, and overall user satisfaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate inclusive design principles and accessibility guidelines to ensure our products and services cater to a diverse range of users
  • Conduct data-driven analysis to inform design decisions and use data to transform raw information into valuable insights to inform decision-making
  • Operate with an iterative design mindset and incorporate user feedback and insights to continuously improve the overall user experience of our offerings
  • Assist in the analysis of market trends, user research studies, and user behavior analyses to inform design decisions and contribute to the team's strategic thinking

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years in a user experience design or equivalent role dedicated to improving experiences with digital products and services
  • Proven ability to create visually appealing and functional designs using industry-standard design, prototyping, diagramming, and AI-enabled productivity tools, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Lucid, Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and optimizing user experiences across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and other digital channels
  • Experience designing user experiences for AI/ML-enabled or data-intensive products, with a focus on how people interact with, interpret, and trust automated or AI-driven outputs
  • Experience navigating complex, ambiguous problem spaces where AI/ML capabilities intersect with enterprise workflows, multiple technology stacks, and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proficient understanding of inclusive design principles, accessibility guidelines, and assistive technologies, with a history of creating accessible and inclusive digital experiences
  • Previous experience interpreting complex data and transforming it into actionable insights for informed decision-making

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in financial services, capital markets, or other regulated enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with emerging human-AI collaboration patterns, such as generative AI interfaces, ML-driven decisioning, or human-in-the-loop workflows
