Job Summary: This position will work closely with both the Exercise Physiology Lab Director (EPLD) and the Exercise Science Program Coordinator (ESPC) to provide supervision/assistance to all individuals who use the lab and equipment. They will also be responsible for the set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of the lab and equipment.
Job Duties: A lab assistant may be asked to complete any of the following job duties:
- Provide assistance to instructors using the Exercise Physiology Lab.
- Supervision of individuals using the lab/equipment for class or research purposes.
- Provide assistance to instructors with approved data collection for research purposes.
- Set up and clean up of lab/equipment before and after classes.
- Clean and maintain lab/equipment.
- Communicate with EPLD and/or ESPC about issues/concerns associated with the lab/equipment or individuals using the lab/equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of ALL student materials.
- Maintain confidentiality of ALL data linked to activities performed in the lab as well as passwords/access codes..
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled at half-time status at UW-Superior.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong awareness of confidentiality of data collection.
- Dependable with strong time management skills.
- Student must have taken and passed both HHP 282 and HLTH 158.
- Knowledge of Exercise Physiology lab/equipment.
Approximate Hours/Week: 10
Pay Rate: $12/hour
