Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Executive Technology Support Engineer to provide premier technical support to our leadership team. In this role, you will ensure that all technology needs are proactively addressed, enabling seamless productivity.
The ideal candidate will not only be adept at troubleshooting and resolving technical issues but also excel at staying ahead of emerging technology trends. You will act as a trusted advisor to executives, providing insights into tools and solutions that enhance their efficiency and effectiveness. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be required to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and approachable manner to non-technical users. In addition, you must maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information encountered while supporting leadership; demonstrate trustworthiness and uphold professional discretion at all times.

This is an on-site role, five days a week at our downtown Des Moines headquarters.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- At least 5 years of desktop support, with specific experience supporting and interacting with executive level staff.
- Experience supporting a variety of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Linux.
- Familiarity with enterprise hardware such as laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, as well as peripherals like printers and docking stations.
- Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting software applications, including Microsoft 365 Suite, Teams, Outlook, and other productivity and collaboration tools.
- Hands-on experience with audio-visual (AV) systems, including video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom and Microsoft Teams) and AV equipment like projectors, microphones, speakers, and control systems.
- Knowledge of collaboration tools and systems for hybrid work environments.
- Expertise in diagnosing and resolving compatibility issues across diverse hardware and software ecosystems.
- A solid understanding of IT security protocols and best practices for safeguarding executive data.
Required:
- Associate's degree or direct and applicable work experience
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience working with either cloud or system administration/operations; with prior collaboration experience with Engineers, Security and Application Design/Run teams to ensure system design aligns to the architecture standards. Working knowledge of DevOps / CICD methodologies and tools
- Familiarity with scripting concepts
- Familiarity with various virtualization technologies and cloud environments
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team for the process of defining IT Solution scope, business/system requirements, and writing/executing test cases
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate to a variety of technical audiences
- Effective troubleshooting/problem solving skills; breaking down issues to find the root-cause with a high attention for detail
- Understand risk and how enterprise level changes impact an organization
- Proactive in nature and someone that is naturally curious, inquisitive and willing to learn new skills
Additional Information
a. Responsible for timely troubleshooting and issue resolution for multiple applications/systems/devices. Will work with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and other appropriate stakeholders as part of issue resolution.
b. Utilize existing technology patterns to build, test and install services and platforms to support overall stability in compliance with technology standards; perform maintenance and upgrades as directed.
c. Perform system support and maintenance including on-call as needed. Will work under established technology policies, standards and guidelines and as needed, execute ad hoc commands.
d. Ensure systems availability and performance. Inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of systems health and create incidents for remediation.
e. Ensure adequate system capacity to support business functions. Will review and analyze patterns within systems to proactively inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of recommended changes as needed.
f. Coordinate existing documented work for Wellmark’s off-shore cloud support team, if applicable.
g. Ensure team documentation (e.g. process, run-books, diagrams etc.) is kept up to date and accurate. Participate in peer reviews part of standard quality assurance practice.
h. Maintain compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements by helping to establish and monitor effective processes and procedures. Stay up to date with technology policies and procedures; including updates for non-enterprise level systems, team processes and diagrams.
i. Other duties as assigned.

Office-based: The nature of the job duties for this position will require you to be in the office 100% of the time. Your presence in-office is critical to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role. Occasional remote work may be permitted based on workload and/or other ad-hoc situations that support it, with manager approval.
