We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant to provide complex, confidential, and highly visible support to the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Human Resources Officer, as well as key members of the AFG Shared Services Leadership Team.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • This role combines traditional executive support with coordination and editing of leadership communications, a strong understanding of organizational structure and key stakeholders, and support for executive meetings and events.
  • Serves as a representative of American Financial Group and Great American Insurance Group and always displays professionalism and an executive demeanor.
  • Manages multiple complex projects from planning through completion, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinates complex calendars and logistics, including meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, and travel arrangements.
  • Coordinates timely and effective communication among internal and external stakeholders, executives, and other key partners.
  • Prepares and monitors expense reports and invoices via Workday.
  • Maintains the highest level of discretion, judgment, and confidentiality when handling sensitive business, employee, and executive matters.
  • May coordinate, proof, and distribute executive communications, organizational announcements, and other leadership messages, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
  • Identifies and coordinates resources and processes to ensure business needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepares, reviews, receives, and responds to complex correspondence, ensuring outgoing communications are accurate, professional, and aligned with established quality standards.
  • Manages purchase orders and budget-related administrative activities for the office of the SVP.
  • May prepare presentations and reports that synthesize information for executive and leadership audiences.
  • Builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively across teams and all organizational levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work on-site at our downtown Cincinnati campus up to five days per week, with flexibility to work remotely up to one day per week based on business needs.
  • At least five years of responsible executive or administrative support experience in a corporate environment.  Prior HR experience a plus.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
