- Ensure high standards of teaching,
learning, and academic performance across all phases
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting,
and resource allocation to ensure sustainability and growth
- Lead, mentor, and develop a strong
senior management team and staff body
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and
values-driven school culture for learners and staff
- Manage stakeholder relationships,
including parents, alumni, governing body members, and the wider community
- Ensure compliance with relevant
education legislation, regulatory bodies, and accreditation requirements
- Champion marketing, admissions, and
enrolment growth strategies
- Represent the school at external events,
in the media, and within the broader independent schools sector
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) or
equivalent teaching qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Education
Management, Leadership, or a related field (essential or strongly
preferred)
- Registration with SACE (South African
Council for Educators) - essential
- Valid Code B driver's licence
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 8-10 years' teaching experience,
including significant time in a senior leadership role (Head, Deputy Head,
or Executive Head level)
- Proven experience in independent/private
school governance, finance, and operations
- Demonstrated track record of leading a
school through academic growth and institutional development
- Sound financial and budgetary management
experience
- Strong staff leadership, mentorship, and
team-building experience
- Experience engaging with governing
bodies, parent communities, and external stakeholders
- Clear criminal record and clear credit
record
- Willingness to undergo relevant
background/vetting checks (SAPS, ITC, etc.)
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Education Management, Leadership, or a related field
- Registration with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
