Position Summary -
Indus Action is looking for an Executive, Operations who can work with the Directorate of Elementary Education, Govt. of Tripura and drive the implementation of RTE 12(1)(c) in the state and ensure that children from vulnerable backgrounds can access quality education in private schools. A minimum of 1.5 years of commitment is expected from the person. The Executive, Operations will ensure technical support to the Department in the policy, process formulation and day-to-day execution support.
Role and Responsibilities (including KRAs)
- As a Executive, Operations, you will be responsible for the following:
- Set up or improvise the MIS system and use technology to ensure smooth policy implementation.
- Lead operations in the state and ensure:
a) An increase in awareness levels of communities
b) An increase in the fill rate with the goal of 60% by the 2027 academic year
c) Improvement in the efficiency of implementation - Analyse RTE Sec 12(1)(c) implementation challenges within a state and provide customised solutions by working with the government, communities, and other non-government and private organisations. You will design these solutions with your expertise and existing Indus Action expertise and experiences.
- Actively contribute through a network of partners to raise the general discourse in the country around Section 12(1)(c)
- Manage operations (Designing and conducting campaigns, setting up processes with the government, application centre management, lottery, admissions, grievance redressal, etc.) within the allocated budget and ensure that goals are achieved with respect to the number of applications and enrollments, and all other projects as applicable.
Requirements
Knowledge and Technical Skills
A) Stakeholder Management (The following skills are preferred, but not compulsory):
- Has led and managed multiple stakeholders (Govt. officials, schools, parents) through a project for 1+ year
- Partnered with the government and built relations across different levels to drive large-scale projects for 1+ year
B) Project Management
- End-to-end project management and delivery experience
- Should be well-versed with the principles of designing thinking, planning and execution
C) Data & Technology
- Capable of understanding technology (product, not code) used to set up MIS system and envisioning the scope that technology can play to make the implementation smoother
- Strong analytical skills to create strategies, analyse data and make logical decisions.

Education and Experience -
The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree; a Master's in Education/Public Policy/Social Science/Law is preferred.
Candidates from the operation states would be preferred.

Compensation
The Executive will be compensated between INR 4-6 lacs per annum based on educational qualifications and past experiences. Other benefits include family Health Insurance, Professional Development Allowance, Travel Allowance, and EPF. Indus Action doesn’t provide laptops to employees; however, it bears certain technical maintenance costs, up to INR 12,000 per annum.
