Executive Engineering Manager (Safety and Operational Excellence Office)
[What the role is]
The Safety and Operational Excellence Office (SOE Office) enhances the safety of Incineration Plant (IP) operations, build a stronger safety culture and mindset, as well as implement continuous improvement projects to bring about a shift towards greater operational excellence at NEA’s Waste Management Facilities (WMFs).[What you will be working on]
To perform safety checks and inspections at NEA’s WMFs, and be directly responsible for executing SOE's scope of work, which includes
Auditing completed Job Cards (JCs) and Permits to Work (PTWs)
Evaluating Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP)
Conducting on-site supervision of maintenance work to verify completion of Risk Assessments and strict adherence to Safe Work Procedures and PTW processes
Performing inspections to verify compliance with safety measures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and valid PTWs/permits
Engaging officers at WMFs to share findings, gaps and learning points from SOE Office’s checks on the PTW process, to inculcate continuous improvement and build a stronger safety culture.

You possess the following qualities,
Minimum qualifications - Diploma in an engineering/technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the operation & maintenance of industrial M&E systems eg in the power, incineration or petrochemical industries; engineering degree holders can also apply
Licensed Electrical Worker or Certificate of Competency for Steam Boiler Engineers; or equivalent experience in operating and maintaining electrical systems and equipment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, e.g. toggling excel, functions, coming up with creative presentations
Love to take initiative and carry out plans
Communicate in a friendly manner and enjoy working with others
Pay attention to the finer details
Organised and able to multi-task
Mature, independent and resourceful
Self-driven and always ready to strive for improvement
As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
Skills Required

- Experience performing safety checks, auditing Job Cards and Permits to Work, evaluating Risk Assessments and Safe Work Procedures, and supervising maintenance work on-site
- Strong communication, initiative, attention to detail, organization, ability to multi-task, maturity, independence, resourcefulness, and self-drive
- May be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment as part of shortlisting
