The Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center is seeking an inspiring, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven Executive Director to lead one of New Jersey’s most distinctive cultural and educational institutions into its next chapter. Located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, New Jersey, the Museum honors the extraordinary life and enduring values of Yogi Berra through inclusive exhibitions, educational programs, community engagement, and sports-based learning experiences that connect history, culture, character, and civic life.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to build on a beloved legacy while expanding the Museum’s reach, visibility, and impact. Founded in 1998 by friends of Yogi Berra, the Museum preserves and shares the story of one of baseball’s most accomplished and admired figures while using sports as a powerful entry point for learning. Its exhibitions, collections, and programs explore themes of perseverance, teamwork, respect, excellence, patriotism, equity, and social change, engaging thousands of students, families, veterans, sports fans, and lifelong learners each year.

The next Executive Director will join the Museum at a pivotal moment. With deep community roots, a committed Board of Trustees, a passionate staff, a strong endowment, and growing public momentum, the organization is well positioned to elevate its role as both a museum and a learning center. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the Museum’s operations, including fundraising, financial management, staff leadership, board engagement, programs, partnerships, communications, and community relations. A central priority will be growing and diversifying contributed revenue through individual giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, campaigns, and signature events.

Experience in nonprofit, museum, education, cultural, civic, sports, or mission-driven leadership will be highly valuable. The successful candidate will bring strong financial and operational acumen, experience working with a board, a talent for building authentic relationships, and a demonstrated commitment to education, inclusion, community engagement, and organizational sustainability. Above all, they will be energized by the opportunity to advance Yogi Berra’s values of respect, teamwork, perseverance, and excellence in ways that resonate with new generations.

The annual base compensation range is between $135,000–$150,000. Health, PTO, and other benefits are available. This is a full-time, in-person position based on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, New Jersey.

The deadline is August 14, 2026. Applicants are highly encouraged to submit their materials as soon as possible to ensure full consideration.
