POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Coordinator provides strategic and administrative leadership for the LL.M./J.S.D. Program in Intercultural Human Rights (ICHRP).  Reporting to the Program Director, the Executive Coordinator manages daily operations, leads recruitment and enrollment initiatives, advances the Program’s outreach, partnerships, and public engagement efforts.  The Executive Coordinator also supports budgeting and project administration. 

This role supports executive level functions such as strategic planning, event creation and oversight, communications, grant development and media relations while serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students, faculty, government agencies, NGOs, and international partners.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Principal responsibility: recruitment and enrollment of LL.M. and J.S.D. students in Intercultural Human Rights.
  • Research, consult, plan, and design constituent components (including budgeting) of a good promotional strategy for the Master’s and Doctoral programs.
  • Establish the procedure to advertise the programs and identify the respective fora of advertisement, including drafting the substance of the advertising tool/ modality, selecting appropriate and effective visual material, suggest, approve the design of ads, review, and approve the various fora of advertising etc.
  • Develop enrollment marketing publications and communications including fliers, brochures, viewbooks, website postings, electronic mail and other media, including an effective social media presence.
  • Identify, network with recruiting agencies, and participate in recruiting events.
  • Devise and implement strategic planning initiatives regarding on/off campus recruiting events, and perform outreach to colleges and universities, organizations, and prospective students.
  • Develop and manage a robust recruiting calendar.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute program informational sessions throughout the year, open houses, and admitted Students events).
  • Admissions -- collect and review for accuracy all application materials from prospective students: application form, resume, personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, credential evaluations, writing samples etc. Coordinate and help conduct in person or Zoom interviews of the applicant with the Director.
  • Implement admissions communications and applicant engagement strategies, and provide information on distinguished faculty, costs of the program and funding resources available, including scholarships.
  • Pay particular attention to foreign credentials, respective evaluations, translations, and the requirements for foreign student visas etc. Offer recommendations to the Director for decisions (accept/ reject/ waitlist).
  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Orientation Events.
  • Implement program activities, including research projects, conferences, training programs, and special events.
  • Draft budget and explore additional resources for the program as well as for extra- or co-curricular activities, or community related activities.
  • Coordinate with the Director to develop and implement academic enhancement programs for students.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Director. 
Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in international relations, human rights or related field preferred. 
  • Preferably at least one (1) year of experience in graduate student recruitment and program administration.
  • Knowledge and experience of project and budget management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English required (Spanish preferred).
  • Ability to build partnerships and work effectively in diverse multicultural environments.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel locally, and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Proven managerial, day-to-day problem-solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in standard computer programs and digital communications tools.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism and integrity.
  • Physical requirements are within the normal bounds of an office environment but may include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Executive Coordinator reports to the Director of LLM/J.S.D. in Intercultural Human Rights Program.

  • Consultants (as needed)

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced degree in international relations, human rights, or related field
