Job DescriptionWise is looking for an Executive Compensation Lead to provide expertise and insight into the the design and delivery of our executive compensation plans, ensuring alignment to our corporate objectives and compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
The role will report directly to the Global Head of Reward and will be responsible for NED, Board and Senior Leadership remuneration, working closely with key stakeholders and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage executive compensation programs, including base salary and equity-based compensation plans for Wise’s senior leaders.
Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of executive compensation against industry peers to ensure competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
Support the design and implementation of comprehensive compensation strategies for Wise’s senior leaders, aligning the strategy with Wise’s Mission and external requirements. Including the modelling, analysis and communication.
Support the Global Head of Reward in designing / reviewing the company wide equity programmes to ensure they are fit for purpose for driving the mission at Wise. This will involve - benchmarking, exploring various delivery models ( RSUs, Options, Performance based plans) and will involve design of vesting schedules, award grants, governance frameworks, burn rate / dilution forecasting as well as input into projects with vendors to deliver a seamless end user experience for Wisers.
Serve as a subject matter expert and key point of contact for all matters related to executive remuneration, providing guidance and recommendations to senior leadership and the Board of Directors on reward packages and structures.
Lead the preparation of the Remuneration Committee/ Compensation Committee processes, including preparation of materials, coordination of the annual plan and meeting agendas and liaising closely with the Global Head of Reward, Chief People Officer, external advisors and Remuneration Committee Chair.
Prepare regulatory submissions including drafting the Director’s Remuneration Report, Remuneration Policy Statement and other required disclosures in the relevant jurisdictions (e.g. The UK, US etc) and responses to any relevant external consultation papers, working closely with Risk & Compliance as required.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure Wise’s remuneration arrangements comply with all relevant laws, regulations and external requirements.
Collaborating with the Co-Sec, legal, finance, tax and stock management teams on all aspects of Executive & equity compensation including all public disclosures and reporting ( e.g. Annual proxy statement, ad hoc SEC reporting, AGM questionnaires etc)
Manage the day-to-day relationships with external vendors, including compensation consultants and legal advisors, to support the design and administration of executive compensation programs.
Managing the Sr. Exec Comp Manager and providing thought leadership within the Reward & wider people team. Part of the Global Reward leadership team.
Requirements:
Extensive & proven experience in managing and designing regional and global core and executive compensation policies and practices, preferably within the financial services industry.
Strong understanding of executive compensation principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, conduct benchmarking analysis, and make data-driven recommendations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
