The Role
Manage the Chief of Staff's calendar and inbox, coordinate travel, prep meetings, and ensure follow-through. Lead ad hoc operational projects (market research, vendor evaluation, process design), triage priorities, and act as a force-multiplier across clinical operations, recruiting, payer relationships, real estate, and partnerships.

The company

Healthcare has a distribution problem. The best care in America is concentrated in a handful of zip codes, and everyone else gets what's left.

Genesis is fixing that in orthopedics and sports medicine — one of the highest-value, most fragmented corners of healthcare. We run a full-spectrum MSK platform: surgery, physical therapy, and everything connecting the two. Sixteen clinics across Chicagoland. Clinical trials running alongside daily patient care. Medicaid patients treated at the same standard as anyone else, at scale.

Most people think accessible care and excellent care are a tradeoff. We've built the operating model that proves they're not. That's the whole thesis, and it's working.

The role

We're hiring an Executive Assistant to the Chief of Staff — and we mean that literally. Not a calendar manager who occasionally gets pulled into projects. A true assistant who happens to also own the calendar.

The Chief of Staff of a 16-clinic, multi-specialty healthcare platform touches a staggering amount of surface area in a given week — clinical operations, physician recruiting, payer relationships, real estate, board matters, community partnerships. This role exists to make sure none of it drops, and to give the CEO back the hours that get lost to logistics instead of decisions.

You'll run point on the day-to-day: scheduling across a fast-moving, multi-site organization, travel, inbox triage, meeting prep, follow-through on commitments made in rooms you were and weren't in. But you'll also get pulled into helping things run smoother — so the ability to learn quick and get things done is essential.

The best EAs we've worked with don't see a ceiling on the role. They see it as the fastest seat in the building to learn how a company actually runs — and they use it accordingly.

What you'll actually do

  • Own the Chief of Staff’s calendar and inbox as a system, not a set of tasks — anticipate conflicts before they're conflicts
  • Manage travel
  • Run point on ad hoc operational projects — market research, vendor evaluations, internal process design, special initiatives that don't have an owner yet
  • Act as a filter and a force-multiplier: know what needs the Chief of Staff’s attention now, what can wait, and what you can just handle

Why this seat, specifically

You'll sit closer to how a healthcare platform is actually built than almost anyone else in the company — and you'll do it at a company that's already proven its model works, not one still looking for product-market fit. If you want to eventually run something — ops, growth, a clinic market, a company — this is one of the best possible places to spend the next few years learning how.

Requirements

Who you are

  • 2+ years supporting a senior executive, ideally at a company that moves fast and touches a lot of functions
  • Healthcare experience is a plus, not a requirement — what matters more is that you're sharp, low-ego, and genuinely enjoy being useful
  • You write clearly and fast. You can turn a rough ask into a clean doc without much hand-holding
  • You treat confidentiality as a given, not a rule you have to remember
  • You want a job where the scope grows with you — this is not a role with a fixed job description in six months
  • Remote-first
