Role Value Proposition:
The Exchange engineer will be responsible for the implementation and support of Microsoft Office 365, Exchange on-premise, and will work with other engineering teams to facilitate the growth of messaging capabilities within MetLife. The Exchange engineer will ensure the reliability and security of globally distributed messaging services.
This is an exciting opportunity to grow in a large, diverse technical environment, supporting more than 90,000 mailboxes and 20+ Office 365 tenants globally. As part of the Messaging Team, you will be at the forefront of enterprise-scale innovation and collaboration. With an emphasis on governance, security, and performance, this role empowers you to make a tangible impact on how MetLife communicates and operates globally.
Success in this role requires hands-on messaging experience and proficiency in Active Directory, networking, DNS, and email security. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering and regional teams in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange on-premise in multi-site, multi-tenant, multi-domain, and global messaging environments
- Provide day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of e-mail infrastructure
- Automation through PowerShell scripting
- Identify and streamline existing processes
- Monitor and respond to issues or service requests reported by the Service Desk, and create and resolve problem tickets
- Enhance procedures for routine Exchange server maintenance/operations tasks
- Troubleshoot issues, working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support, towards a quick and effective resolution
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 4+ years of enterprise messaging leveraging Microsoft technologies
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange on-premise.
- Ability to provide 3 rd and 4th level support.
- Experience in large-scale messaging environments
- Excellent written, communication, and analytical skills
- Customer service orientation and strong teamwork mindset
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related discipline)
- 4+ work experience in Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Hybrid, Email Security, DNS, and Active Directory
- 2+ years of work experience with scripting with PowerShell, VB.net, or scripting for Identity Management/Directory Sync.
- Experience with Proofpoint and/or Cisco Email Security perimeter security appliances is a plus, but not required.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer: Exchange Office.

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
