As part of LPL’s Business & Wealth Solutions leadership team, the EVP of Wealth Planning will be a proven leader overseeing LPL’s Wealth Planning experience. This individual will lead a team of 85+ wealth planning professionals to drive key strategic initiatives of the firm to grow and expand our wealth planning value proposition. The EVP, Wealth Planning will have deep subject matter experience that will help shape the future of client offerings as well as the advisor and investor experience.

What will you do?

Drive the overall Wealth Planning experience at LPL

  • Lead the Financial Planning Group, the “front door” of planning at LPL, and make it easy to do Wealth Planning at LPL
  • Educate LPL clients about the benefits of adopting a planning-based approach
  • Transform Financial Planning operations to better more seamless management of planning-related activities and revenue

Lead a team of highly specialized talent with deep expertise

  • Lead a team of dedicated specialists who collaborate with advisors and institutions through offerings such as Paraplanning Services and High-net-worth Services
  • Create an ensemble practice “feel” for advisors who engage with our services/teams, enabling access to expertise from LPL CFPs, JDs, CPAs, and CFAs
  • Implement a professional development program to grow the consultative skillset and expertise of the team
  • Inspire teams to deliver best-in-class support for advisors and their clients and maintain a high level of employee engagement

Evolve our Wealth Planning offering

  • Serve as the “business owner” for LPL’s digital planning experience; partner with Product and Technology to develop and evolve (e.g., WealthVision Essentials)
  • Continue to expand the suite of available Wealth Planning services based on advisor/investor needs (e.g., business planning, tax prep, concierge services)
  • Drive continuous improvement to key business outcomes, including advisor retention, financial planning revenue, Net Promotor Score and Same Store Sales impact

Champion an expanded value proposition

  • Build and nurture deep level of personal engagement with LPL advisors using our services and create a strong feedback loop to product and delivery teams
  • Serve as the firm’s thought leader for Wealth Planning, sharing perspectives in small and large group settings; collaborate on key topics with LPL Research
  • Lead and participate in strategic discussions with senior leadership and key stakeholders

What are we looking for?

We want bold leaders who are passionate about planning and how it empowers Wealth Planning as the center of an advisor/client relationship. We are looking for people who have technical acumen, thrive in a fast-paced environment, are client-focused, team-oriented, and are able to execute in a way that encourages continuous improvement and drives business outcomes.

What skills and experiences are advantageous?

  • 15+ years of experience in wealth management with a focus on trust/estate planning and/or private wealth management
  • Advanced designations preferred (CFP, CPA, CFA, JD, etc.)
  • General manager with experience in finance, operations, and/or product management and proven ability to improve both customer delight and business profitability
  • Strategic agility to evaluate both quantitative and qualitative data and develop a customer-centric vision
  • Strong strategy skills combined with a willingness to think boldly and challenge the status quo
  • Ability to build and lead strong cross-functional relationships to drive growth and expansion
  • Strong executive presence that leads to effective communication of the organization’s strategic roadmap at multiple levels - to employees, advisors, peers, and the Board

Priority Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of financial planning products, solutions and strategies. Experience driving product innovation and digitization within competitive marketplace.
  • Experience driving product adoption through advisors and building repeatable, scalable processes through technology tools and software resources to meet the needs of advisors and clients. Deep understanding of advisor needs and experience developing effective strategies and business plans for advisor practices.
  • Track record of building and leading high performing teams.
  • Ability to engender trust and confidence of advisors and external stakeholders. Strong presentation skills and effective communicator who can translate comprehensive advice strategies for advisors and clients.


 

Pay Range:

0 - 999,999.00


 

Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
