TITLE: Events Marketing Manager
LOCATION: New York City (hybrid) or Fully Remote in the United States
SALARY: $110,000 - $130,000 annually + bonus (based on NYC, will be adjusted for geo)
The Role:
The Events Marketing Manager will be the central operational engine for Canoe's events calendar, responsible for the planning, execution, and detailed post-event analysis and follow-on engagement of all sponsored, hosted, and virtual events. This role ensures that every event, from major industry conferences to Canoe-hosted roadshows, runs seamlessly and maximizes our return on investment. You will manage complex logistics, vendor relationships, and cross-functional coordination (with Sales, Relationship Management, Business Development, Product, Product Marketing, and Executive Leadership) to ensure event activities translate directly into quality leads, pipeline generation and acceleration, and client retention. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong project management skills, and a data-driven approach to event evaluation.
What You'll Do:
- Own Client Conference & Roadshows: Lead significant internal events like the Summer Social and the first-ever Client Conferences in the US and supporting EMEA events, including booking space, managing invitations, securing catering, coordinating keynotes and content tracks, and handling on-site logistics.
- Manage Event Logistics & Coordination: Take ownership of the full events lifecycle, including maintaining the internal event calendar, triaging new sponsorship opportunities, and managing all internal and external coordination for 50+ in-person and virtual events annually.
- Lead Event Conception & Planning: Develop and implement end-to-end event strategy, including planning and logistics for events of all tiers, creating internal logistics pages and Slack channels, hosting prep calls, developing event-by-event themes and action plans, and designing creative activations.
- Oversee Vendor and Swag Management: Manage all vendor relationships (e.g., shipping, on-site contractors, swag providers), handle the ordering, fulfillment, and tracking of all event materials, and manage inventory through the ElitExpo platform.
- Run Virtual Event Production: Set up and manage virtual event spaces, customize branding, oversee the registration process, ensure data is captured correctly in Salesforce/Hubspot, train presenters on platform usage, and moderate/produce the live event.
- Manage Event Promotion: Coordinate with the Growth and Corporate teams on supporting ad and email campaigns, own organic promotion across channels (LinkedIn, website), and manage all invitation and post-event follow-up email processes.
- Drive Post-Event Evaluation: Create and host internal debriefs to capture learnings and feedback, and lead the annual calendar discussion with data-driven recommendations to continuously improve strategy and maximize ROI.
- Ensure Data Attribution: Partner closely with Growth Marketing and RevOps to create pre-event campaigns, ensure accurate lead capture during the event (via lead scanners), and oversee the post-event upload of lead data into Hubspot/Salesforce, ensuring proper campaign association and accurate opportunity attribution.
What We're Looking For:
- Travel: Flexibility to travel for on-site management of key events, roadshows, and conferences as needed (15% travel expected).
- Experience: Proven experience (likely 4-5 years) in a field marketing or events specialist role, managing complex B2B event logistics (both in-person and virtual/webinar formats) and budgetary negotiations.
- Project Management Expertise: Exceptional organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Technical Proficiency: Direct experience setting up and managing registration systems for virtual events and a strong working knowledge of CRM/Marketing Automation platforms (e.g., Salesforce and Hubspot) for lead management and campaign tracking.
- Data-Driven Focus: A strong understanding of event metrics, lead attribution, and the ability to run post-event reports, define success touchpoints, and bring rigor to ROI evaluation.
- Vendor Management: Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, handling inventory, and overseeing the ordering and fulfillment process for event materials and swag.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Business Development, Growth Marketing, and Product Marketing.
