Eurodrone L1 Comms & L2 MCOMS System Engineer

Job Description:

Participate to communications Strategy at system level (family concepts, product policy, …). Contribute to technology roadmaps for network, busses, video and connectivity (incl. wireless). Contribute to the set-up of the System Engineering for Comms (process, methods & tools). Be responsible for the transverse activities & function (Management of common resources, integrated modular communications architecture, system configurability, networks & Busses, Connectivity, Data Loading & Failure Management, ...)

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Overall Comms System Engineering Activities Coordination (Time, Cost and Quality)
• Overall Comms L1 System Design
• Supporting L1 Integration and Verification, Certification, Security Accreditation & Qualification
• L2 supplier follow-up and technical validation of deliverables
• Contribute to the requirements and the design for all chains and segments within Comms
• Additionally, as member of a multi-programme team, contribute to other Transport A/C programmes architecture activities as backup and support.

Main role activities will be the following:

MANAGE:

• Support L1 and L2 technical baselines and technical reviews
• Support Progress Reviews and Customer discussions
• Coordinate Comms L2 contributions and design reviews
• Comms Change Request and Customer Interface Management

DESIGN and SUPPORT

• Support L1 Overall RPAS Design (L1 Requirements, SRD, SDD, etc)
• Validate L2 Comms Documents coming from other MSCs (SRDs, SDDs….)
• Define Interface between L2s within chain/segment (maintain L1 SIDs)
• Support L1 Verification Requirements and Coverage Matrix
• Support L1 Security Assessment Results
• Support L1 Certification and Qualification Plans and Evidences
• Support to Antenna and Radiofrequency Interoperability Activities
• Support the preparation of design reviews Synthesis

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Educated to degree level in Engineering , valuable PhD/Telecommunications Engineering Degree.

- Experience in Engineering

- Experience of >5 years in system engineering or Communications/Avionics related jobs.

- A/C and comms Architecture knowledge  of at least one of the following platforms:

• Transport A/C - MRTT, C295/CN235/C212, A400M
• UAS – Atlante, Barracudam nEUROn, or any other

- Be familiar with System Engineering processes (DPs / ABDs etc) applicable to at least one of the following platforms

• MRTT, C295/CN235/C212
• A400M

- Be familiar with airworthiness and certification processes, EASA or INTA based.

- Be familiar with Comms systems, at least one of the following disciplines.

• Voice based Radio Communications (Radios, SATCOM, Intercom systems)
• IP/Digital based communications (Datalinks, ROVER, SATCOM, LTE, etc)
• Tactical Datalinks (Link16, Link22 etc)

- Be familiar with MBSE approach. Experience with previous projects will be highly considered.

- Awareness on cyber security implications for airborne platforms will be highly considered.

- Be familiar with following tools and competences

• Project management and planning
• Reporting activities generation (DOORS, DMS, PCMS)
• Model Based Systems Development as Simulink, Matlab, CAMEO
• Problem solving and decision making,
• Assertiveness
• English & Spanish :Fluent
